The Green Paper Is Handed over the CEPEJ
The European Rechtspfleger continues its way
On 11 December 2008 the European Union of Rechtspfleger (E.U.R.) has handed over the green paper for a European Rechtspfleger during the plenary session of the CEPEJ (European Commission for the Efficiency of Justice) at Strasbourg. This further step took place, after the green paper has been already handed over the European Commission, GD for justice, freedom and security, on 2 December 2008 in Brussels.
The President of the CEPEJ, Mr. Fausto De Santis, accepted the green paper gratefully, which was handed over by the General Secretary of the E.U.R., Mrs. Adelheid Hell, together with the Permanent Representative of the E.U.R. at the Council of Europe and with the CEPEJ, Mr. Jean-Jacques Kuster.
In the presence of the representatives of 47 member states of the Council of Europe and of the CEPEJ the General Secretary, Mrs. Hell, expressed, that the European Union of Rechtspfleger becomes aware of the significance having got the observer status with the CEPEJ since 2003. She emphasized that the E.U.R. has taken responsibility with this status. „Therefore we also want to support the work of the European Commission for the Efficiency of Justice with the green paper and we want to contribute that the quality of the legal systems of the member states of the Council of Europe will be improved“, she said.
As a paper of discussion the green paper for a European Rechtspfleger contains proposals for an efficient justice, which is close to the citizens, in a uniform area of justice in Europe. The general secretary particularly mentioned that the E.U.R. does not want to intervene in the juridical systems of the other countries, but with the green paper we would like to give suggestions to consider the national system.
Finally Mrs. Hell expressed the hope that in the member states of the Council of Europe the discussion about the contents of the green paper will begin intensively and thus a contribution of change of justice, i.e. of the improvement of the efficiency of justice, will be given.
