Prize "The crystal scales"
The Prize The Crystal Scales rewarding innovative practices
contributing to the quality of civil justice will be jointly awarded by the Council of
Europe and the European Commission in the framework of the European Day of Civil Justice,
at the occasion of a Ceremony which will take place in Edinburgh (United Kingdom) on 25
October 2005.
The objective of this prize is to discover and highlight innovative and efficient
practices of court organization or in the implementation of civil proceedings within some
European jurisdictions (for instance, initiatives devised by a Court President, a
registry, a Bar), that deserve to be brought to the attention of policy-makers and the
judicial community in order to improve the functioning of the public system of civil
justice. In more specific terms, the idea is also to give the CEPEJ the opportunity of
creating a specific data base to be used in its future work and help in reaching its
objectives.
Please find attached the complete file concerning this Prize in the same form as it is
published on the CEPEJ internet site : www.coe.int/CEPEJ <http://www.coe.int/CEPEJ>
The success of this event depends to a large extent on the quality and number of
candidatures from courts, bars or any other instances or associations of judicial
professions of the member States of the Council of Europe
Therefore CEPEJ Members have to play a major role in initiating and proposing candidatures
from their country
Thus we would be grateful if you could propose one or more candidature(s) at the 5th
plenary meeting of the CEPEJ to take place next week in Strasbourg.
With our warmest hanks for you cooperation and our best regards.
